The creative direction for Analog Expo began with the nature of the event itself: film photography. While exploring the visual language surrounding analog photography, I kept coming back to one of the most recognizable parts of the process: the contact sheet. That became the foundation of the entire visual identity of the event.
From there, the visuals naturally evolved into something that felt tactile, nostalgic, and story-driven. The hand-drawn markups layered throughout the campaign were intentionally designed to mimic the editing and selection process photographers make directly on contact sheets, adding a sense of authenticity and movement to the pieces. The typography was also carefully selected to reflect the type commonly found on vintage film boxes and canisters, reinforcing the analog aesthetic while giving the campaign a cohesive visual identity.
Beyond the initial event poster, the campaign expanded across both digital and print touchpoints, including web assets, Facebook and Instagram graphics, photo tags, and award badges for competition winners. The goal was to create a visual system that felt immersive and consistent across every stage of the event experience.
