As the first-ever Slumber Party event, this campaign came with a unique creative challenge: how do you capture the nostalgia of childhood sleepovers while adapting it into a large-scale social event that no one was actually staying overnight for? On top of that, the branding needed to feel welcoming and engaging for both male and female attendees rather than leaning too heavily into a traditionally feminine interpretation of the theme.

With that in mind, I was very intentional in building a colour palette and visual system that felt playful and nostalgic without becoming exclusive to one audience. Another important design challenge was communicating the event experience visually rather than relying heavily on written explanations. To solve this, I created a series of hand-drawn illustrations representing the different activities and experiences attendees could expect throughout the night.

The campaign expanded across both digital and physical touchpoints, including web graphics, advertisements, and social media assets. Ultimately, the event became one of the team’s most successful new concepts to date, attracting approximately 500 attendees across both genders and leading to the event being immediately scheduled again for the following semester.

With the first Slumber Party event already established and successful, the challenge for the second edition became entirely different: how do you recreate the same excitement and recognition while giving the event a completely fresh visual identity?

The core inspiration remained the same: nostalgia, but this time I approached it from a more energetic and expressive angle. I wanted the visuals to feel spontaneous, playful, and slightly chaotic in a way that reflected the atmosphere of the event itself. To achieve this, I combined hand-drawn illustrations with mixed typography treatments and layered graphic elements that carried an almost graffiti-inspired feel.

The final result balanced chaos with intentionality, creating a campaign that felt youthful, loud, and visually engaging while still remaining polished and cohesive as an event identity system.

The campaign ultimately expanded across both digital and physical touchpoints, including web graphics, advertisements, and social media assets, helping evolve the event’s visual identity while maintaining the recognizable spirit behind the Slumber Party brand.
